This website is a great place for coaches to get new ideas on coaching youth athletics. There are many more elements to youth sports then just running practices. The Positive Coaching Alliance can shed a lot of light on how to deal with youth sports over the course of a season.
The Strong Kid website has a plethora of research articles on children, kids and teenagers. The research is devoted to athletics and training at young ages. The information will help dispel many myths about youngsters and training, as well as helping coaches and parents understand what is best for their athletes.
There will be a goalie instructor that will get to 1 practice for every team in the EPHA. He will be in contact with each team and schedule the goalie instruction so that the coaching staff knows to adjust their practice plan. The coaches can also get ideas from the goalie instructor on how to better include the goalies in practices and what the goalies should be working on. Teams and individual goalies can set up extra sessions with the goalie instructor, they must make sure it works with the team and the coaching staff.
The goalie clinics will always be on Sunday and the times and dates are on the main schedule under the the player development tag. If a team has a practice at the same time as the goalie clinic, send the goalies to the clinic and adjust your practice plan accordingly.
The Player Development Director is a resource that can be used by any team, player or coach in the EPHA. This resource can run practices for absent coaches, bring tips to practice, answer questions, set up practice plans or just simply give some advice.
There will be Satruday small games sessions over the course of the season for all skaters and goalies who want to attend. These clinics will be run by the Player Development Director.
