TRYOUT GROUPS POSTED

2008/2009 EPHA TRYOUTS

Tryouts for the 2008/2009 hockey season will begin Saturday, September 27^th. All tryouts for Squirts/10U and above will be held at the EP Community Center. Due to the success and overwhelming positive response from players and parents, the hockey board has approved a Closed Tryouts for this season. This means that parents, family, friends, etc. will not be able to watch tryouts. Only non-parent members of the board, coaches and graders will be allowed in the rink. Once registration is complete, all players will be placed into specific groups and their exact tryout times will be displayed. See the attached Tryout Schedule for the specific tryout times for each level of player.

All players should report to the rink thirty minutes before their scheduled tryout time to check-in and get their tryout penny. Please proceed immediately to the check-in desk upon arrival. Each player must wear a plain Red, White or Black jersey (no AAA, showcase, professional, college, etc. jerseys) and standard Eden Prairie socks. A black helmet is required, with no name, and all AAA stickers removed. Additionally, all standard equipment is required including mouthguards and neckguards. Tryout grading will consist of a Skills Session (20% of grade), a First Scrimmage (30% of grade) and a Second Scrimmage (50% of grade). After each grading session, the players will be placed into different groups based upon their results. Please check the website each evening for the updated groups for the next tryout session.
