Hi All!

Hope you've had a great season so far! Our 8U2 White team has been given the following days and location for our outdoor ice: 

Mondays/Wednesday 6:00pm ROUND LAKE WEST. We will be skating with the 8U1 team! This is intended as optional ice time, but if the coaches want us there for a specific reason, I will be sure to advise. 

I am adding the dates/times to the calendar. IF YOU DO NOT HEAR OTHERWISE, skating will happen! Please do keep an eye on your email or the GroupMe chat as there may be last minute decisions made on outdoor ice! 

Scheduled indoor ice will always take priority over outdoor ice.  (ie. Developmental Ice Time!) Participation is optional and siblings, parents and other family members are always invited to skate with the team.  It is a fun way to embrace the origins of hockey and our beautiful MN winters!

The weather hotline to check if the rinks are opened or closed due to inclement weather (or warm weather) is 952-949-8449 option #1. Coaches may also cancel practices at their discretion. (That's where the GroupMe or email comes in!) 

Dress for the weather!  It is recommended to add extra layers for warmth when skating outdoors.  Kids do warm up once they start skating so use the temperature as a guide to decide how warmly to dress.  We usually have our kids wear a base layer, pants under their breezers/shin guards, thin gloves under their hockey gloves, and a thin head covering (ski mask/balaclava) under their helmets.  Players can always use the warming house if needed.

A quick note for you! 

We will be using GroupMe as a messaging app - it's like a social media app but it doesn't require you to be a member to receive information! I will be creating an "All Parents" group as well as a "8U2 Moms" group as I'm assuming that Dads aren't going to be that interested in helping to organize social events (although if you want to be included, feel free to email me and I'll add you!) 

I also urge you to:

1. Download the Eden Prairie Hockey Association App (from the app store on your phone)

2. Add a "subscribed" calendar to your phone calendar so you can have all your information in one calendar! (Instructions to come!) 

3. Look at the Registration --> Forms/Policies as I believe we will need to have the 3 "Forms You May Need". If this is your first year with EPHA, then please also review the Birth certificate Policy document.

4. Stay tuned for a Parent meeting. I promise to hold one, but since this is my first year as a Manager, I'm not entirely up to speed on what I'm supposed to be doing. I will have more information after November 8th. In the meantime, please ask me any questions you might have!
