2019-2020 Rookie Camp Overview

Rookie Camp is a great opportunity for young players to be introduced to hockey in a fun, relaxed, supportive environment.

This FREE program is open to all potential Eden Prairie Mite/8U players (Kindergarten through 3rd Grade), along with Eden Prairie pre-schoolers who will be 4 years old by February 23, 2020.

Rookie Camp is typically once a week on Sunday afternoons.

If you would like more information about our FREE Rookie Camp sessions being offered for 2019 - 2020, please click on the link below to request more information.

Currently registered Mite/8U players are not eligible for Rookie Camp, including siblings on the ice.  Thank you for your help in keeping the focus on beginning skaters and those trying hockey for the first time!

IMPORTANT: Rookie Camp Equipment

All Rookie Camp participants must come prepared with all required equipment for safety and success on the ice.  Please click on the above Rookie Camp Information link for a list of items needed.

EPHA has a LIMITED amount of equipment available to borrow, however, advanced request is required (click link below to submit request).  Unless you have received confirmation that gear is available for your player, you must provide your own equipment.  Equipment requests MUST be submitted one week prior to the first day of Rookie Camp.  Available equipment is first come, first served.  All requests are time stamped and will be given out in the order received until the supply is depleted.

The equipment program is run entirely by volunteers and we absolutely cannot accommodate last-minute requests or fulfill needs the day of Rookie Camp.  Remember to plan ahead, including bringing your own sock tape, mouth guards, neck guards, socks and any other items needed.  We want to continue to offer this FREE program and cannot provide these items to all participants.

At this point in the season, most of the equipment in our program is currently being used by Mite/8U players and Termites.  Do not count on EPHA to have equipment available.  The sooner a request is submitted, the more likely we can accommodate the request.  The later the request, the less likely we will have equipment available.  This is the second year we have been able to offer this program and the goal is to make hockey more accessible to kids and families new to the sport.  We want to make it as easy as possible to try hockey with the understanding that we do not have unlimited resources and volunteers to staff all requests.

Please be courteous and kind to our volunteers when receiving and/or returning equipment.  It is a huge undertaking to provide this service to players and Rookie Campers and we do our best to meet as many needs as possible.

Equipment Request Form

Click here to submit equipment requests. Due to limited supply, there are no guarantees that equipment will be available. You will be contacted within a week of your request with information and availability. EPHA does not provide the following items: neck guard, mouth guard, velcro shorts and/or sock tape (to hold up socks). Please provide these additional items.
