Our second game challenged the boys resolve, a lot of tired skaters but they fought to the end. Our stars included Austin for a big goal, Aedin faced a lot of shots and kept us in the game with some great saves, and Marcus stepped outside his normal offensive mode and played both ways. Opened the tourney with a winner, Carson played solid winger at the right place and positioned for the break out, Sky scored a broke the game open with a strong shot, Nate close the door limiting the opponent to one goal, and finally Kenny scored his first goal, and held the defensive point on several clearing attempts. We carried momentum from Monday into this game. Opened the scoring early, and played three solid periods. Andy another stellar game opening up the middle with outlet passes and breaking away with shots all night. Aedin kept the visitors to a few goals closing down key chances. Our defense played both sides of the ice, locking down chances, and Evan skated like a man on a mission. Going coast to coast and back to cover. And finally Matt went one on one with their best player and shut him down, and put two goals on the board.

We played the best first period of the season, locking down shots and scoring chances and getting some early shots on net. Nate and Carson played the wings with grit and connected on several outlet passes, clogging the neutral zone, Andy played great two way defense holding the tight point, pinching in, and standing up players at the blue line.

It was a tight game, and we saw some different things from our players, Aedin had some great saves on 20 shots keeping the game close, Austin's gritty play payed off with a goal, and Marcus made some great passes resulting in some good chances.

Chaska game The boys kept fighting and stuck together, Nate hung in facing almost 30 shots, Marcus met his pre game goal set for himself putting the puck where grandma puts the cookies, and Ty for stepping into a new position playing a period of solid Defense.

Season opener was tightly played and we broke it open in the second period, with Marcus leading the scoring parade with a double hat trick plus one, Carson with his great 2 way play, Kenny with strong D and keeping pucks in the offensive zone, and finally Nate Anderson closing the door with some spectacular pad saves.
